July Events

First Independence Day Parade in the Nation- The 40th anniversary of the first Independence Day Parade in the Nation will be honoring military veterans and other American military heroes.  Beginning at the stroke of midnight, start your Independence Day by saluting our nations troops in Gatlinburg!

Midnight Independence Day Parade- For the 35th consecutive year, Gatlinburg kicks off America’s Independence Day celebration with the nation’s first parade, which leads off at 12 a.m. on Saturday.

Patriot Festival– Held every year for the past 25 years on Independence Day and located at Patriot Park in Pigeon Forge, this event is puts you into the  patriotic spirit and concludes with a great display of fireworks.

Gatlinburg River Raft Regatta- Beginning at noon, the River Raft Regatta well set sail down the Little Pigeon River in Downtown Gatlinburg.

Gatlinburg's Fireworks Finale- End the 4th with a bang and be dazzled by the fireworks show visible anywhere in downtown Gatlinburg!

Smokies Stadium Fireworks Display-  Enjoy a great display of fireworks at the conclusion of the Smokies baseball game.

SEAA Girl's Fast Pitch World Series- Action Packed Pigeon Forge hosts this exciting annual series at the new Wear Farm Park located on Wears Valley Road just minutes from the Pigeon Forge Parkway. The location of this brand new facility allows time for attending teams and family members to not only enjoy our world series but to also take in all there is to see and do in Pigeon Forge and the surrounding area.

Gatlinburg Craftsmen's Fair- Featuring 150-plus booths, some of the nation's finest art, crafts, and music can be found at the Craftsmen's Fair.

 

 

August Events

Celebrate Freedom!- Celebrate Freedom! is the name to designate a month-long way for Pigeon Forge to show its respect and honor for America’s heroes. Throughout the entire month of August, participating businesses throughout Pigeon Forge offer discounts to active and veteran military personnel, police officers, firefighters and other emergency responders. This is a great time of year for us to recognize and honor all service personnel To receive Celebrate Freedom! discounts, servicemen and women need to show proper identification and proof of service.

State of Tennessee's Annual Sales Tax-Free Weekend- Since Pigeon Forge has endless shops of all types, you need to make plans NOW to travel to the Smokies to get the great deals and save tax dollars on all things school related!

Shades of the Past Rod Run- Dollywood's Splash Country. Rods, Customs and Classics through 1972. Prizes and Awards to be given. Vendors and show will be at Dollywood's Splash Country parking lot. (865) 995-2009

Pigeon Forge Fall Rod Run- LeConte Center of Pigeon Forge.This Pigeon Forge Fall Rod Run is one of the most popular car shows in Pigeon Forge simply because of the cooler weather, lack of summertime visitors, and the slight chance of seeing some fall colors start to show! October Events

1 - Nov. 15

Fall Color in the Smokies– A common misconception is that peak fall leaf color season in Great Smoky Mountains National Park happens in mid-October. Spectacularly bright colors actually light up the Smoky Mountain zone for seven+ weeks. Colors begin to intensify at peak elevations then make their way down to Pigeon Forge in the foothills at the base of the mountains.

Ray Stevens- Enjoy two great shows with Ray Stevens, whose humor is keenly observant and rich in nuance. His style is unpretentious, and he has charmed audiences for past fifty years. Join in with familiar favorites such as "The Mississippi Squirrel Revival", and the Grammy award winning "Misty." Two shows: 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm at Country Tonite Theatre in Pigeon Forge.

Gatlinburg Craftsmn's Fair– Art lovers and folks who appreciate fine crafts and music lovers can find discover 200 booths featuring the works of some of the nation's finest artists and craftspeople. Artisans are on hand to demonstrate their skills, answer questions and offer their unique pieces for sale. Enjoy live country & bluegrass entertainment as you stroll through the Gatlinburg Convention Center.

Don Williams- Two nights: October 16th and 17th, 8:00 pm at Country Tonite Theatre in Pigeon Forge, TN. With a warm hickory baritone that balances strength with a gentle concern, he draws his listener into the intimate world of an old friend.  Call 865-453-2003 for tickets and information.

Stomp Out Breast Cancer- This year will be the Rocky Top Wine Trail's 7th annual Stomp Out Breast Cancer! We will walk to 3 of the Rocky Top Wineries (Hillside Winery, Apple Barn Winery, and Mountain Valley Winery)  Enjoy fun activities at each location like grape stomping! All 5 of the Rocky Top Wineries will be participating in the event this year, and they will all have a "Pink" wine. All 5 of the "Pink" wines will be available for sample and sell at Hillside Winery during the event; $5 of every bottle sold will be donated to the American Cancer Society and our goal is to raise $25,000! Tickets will include lunch, a bottle of water, a backpack filled with goodies, and a Rocky Top Wine Trail glass. This year, we should finally go over the $100,000 mark of dollars donated through this event!!! Help us make this come true in 2015. Halloween Trick or Treat- The Pigeon Forge Community Center's annual Halloween event takes place every year on the Thursday before Halloween. This is a free and non-scary event that provides a safe alternative for families to go Trick or Treating. Vendors from the Pigeon Forge Community set up fun interactive displays and hand out candy.

 

November Events

MLC Ladies Retreat- This dynamic women’s organization gathers twice per year… in March and November. Each event is held at the Music Road Hotel and Convention Center in the heart of Pigeon Forge.  For additional information please call (706) 581-2590. Advance registration is required.

Gene Watson & Jeannie Seely- Gene is rightly referred to as “The Singer’s Singer.” Some of Gene’s classics are “Farewell Party” and “Fourteen Carat Mind.” Jeannie Seely's Grammy Award-winning song “Don’t Touch Me” and other hits are crowd favorites. 8:00 pm at Country Tonite Theatre in Pigeon Forge.

Winterfest Trolley Tour of Lights- See five million twinkling lights while you're aboard the Trolley Tour of Lights during Winterfest. Heated, enclosed and cozy, the trolley tour has a personal tour guide who will share stories about Pigeon Forge's history Winterfest displays. Winterfest Trolley Tour of Lights begins and ends at Patriot Park, so returning to your vehicle isn't a hassle. Tickets can be purchased the day of the tour and reservations are required for groups of 10 or more. With many dates to choose from, be sure to make your plans now to experience Winterfest in the heart of Pigeon Forge. Please note that the Winterfest Trolley Tour of Lights will be running Monday-Friday only, three times a night in November and December at 6:30 pm, 7:45 pm and 9:00 pm. In January the tours are only on Mondays and Fridays and there must be a minimum of 15 passengers for a tour to depart. Price is $5.00 per person. Groups of 10 or more must prepay money order or cashiers check only before their pre-reserved tour.

Winter Magic Kickoff & Chili Cookoff- Offering mouth-watering recipes of homemade chili ranging from mild and delightful to wild and adventurous, the City of Gatlinburg hosts its 26th annual Winter Magic Kickoff and Chili Cookoff 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on the streets of downtown Gatlinburg.

Veterans Day Celebration- Join Gatlinburg in saluting America's veterans of the Armed Forces, featuring stirring musical numbers and words of tribute on Ripley's Aquarium Plaza.

Great Smoky Thanksgiving Arts & Crafts Show- Unique handcrafted Thanksgiving gifts made artisans who are members of Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community near Gatlinburg. Fine art and fine art craft items are offered for sale at the Gatlinburg Convention Center.

Fireworks on Thanksgiving at the Titanic- The Titanic Museum Attraction will hosts LARGEST fireworks event of the year on the Pigeon Forge Parkway on Thanksgiving night! This annual event is to honor the lives and legacies of the ship’s passengers, crew and rescuers.

Yama Con- Yama Con is a convention that focuses on Anime and the Japanese culture, but also feature others activities that are related to all things having to do with video games, cards, board games, comics and more.  Registration fees range from $25-$75 and can be completed online at www.yamacon.org.  Make plans now to celebrate everything nerdy, geeky and otaku at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center.

Festival of Christmas Past- Join us to celebrate Christmas in the mountains with old-time music, harp singing, storytelling and reminiscing, craft demonstrations such as weaving, spinning, quilting, basket making, historic toys and games, and children's activities.
